Hi, I'm Tarryn
I became a mother for the first time at just twenty years old and then again two years ago and so in many ways, Motherhood is almost all I've ever known.
Over the last eighteen years, I've experienced the profound joy of raising my daughters alongside the inherent challenges and societal constraints of Modern Motherhood that so many women quietly carry in isolation.
I believe motherhood is one of life's greatest rites of passage—a threshold that deserves to be witnessed, honoured and held.
Though the Mother's in me were born 16 years apart, one thing remained apparent with the birth of both my Children...
That there is still no real Village for Mothers to be well cared for, held and honoured on her passage and that too many women still find themselves crossing this rite and all that comes with it...alone.
A Mum. A Doula. A Yoga Teacher. A village Weaver.
Founder of The Perinatal Place & The Embla Village CIC.

When we truly care for mothers, we create stronger families, healthier children and more resilient communities.
I believe that supporting mothers well isn't simply about improving one woman's Perinatal experience and wellbeing—
It is a long term investment in the wellbeing of future generations and a leverage tool for positive societal impact.
Not simply to offer support through pregnancy, birth and postpartum, but to help restore something I believe we've forgotten: the Fourth Trimester & The Village
That's why The Perinatal Place was born

But the brutally honest answer to "Why this work?" is because Motherhood has been my greatest teacher. It's all I've ever known and it has been beautiful in so many ways but it hasn't always been a dreamy walk through pretty wild flower fields with rainbows above me and a rose quartz paved path to follow.
Every Training I've undertaken arrived at the right time in my own personal journey for when I needed that particular skill set for myself and my Daughters wellbeing and ironically enough they were never intentionally collected to build a career in this space, but they did become the very pillars and foundation that supported me through a whole landscape of challenging terrain along the ever-unfolding experience of Solo Motherhood and the experiences that got me here.
As I learned, I survived. As I practised, I healed. As I grew, I lived.
Looking back, I can see that every experience, every season of motherhood, every training and life lesson was quietly preparing me for the work I do today.
The qualifications represent years of dedicated study, but more importantly, 18 years on the path of Motherhood itself represents the Devotion to serve from a place of humble yet embodied integrity.
And along with my two beautiful Daughters and being their Mama, that is my proudest achievment of all.
This work is the meeting place between eighteen years of lived motherhood, lifelong study and a deep commitment to walking alongside women through one of life's most profound transitions.
Why This Work...

Whether we're preparing for your birth, having an honest heart to heart about how to navigate the Maternity system, guiding you and your partner through evidence based antenatal education,
The process, passage, emotion and transformation, helping you with established feeding, nourishing you with wholesome nutrition, herbal remedies, energy practices, body work and massage,
Or sharing our truth together at a mothers' gathering a few months postpartum, moving together through gentle mum and baby yoga bonding, or simply sitting with a warm cup of tea as we hold our babies,

My hope is always the same—that every woman leaves feeling more connected to herself, her baby and the village of women that surround her.
You don't have to do this alone and I can't wait to Welcome you to our Village.
